Building Know Your Vehicle infrastructure for financial services
Banks, insurers and private capital check the customer before money goes out. After that, few are watching the vehicle behind the loan, lease or policy. VINify is Know Your Vehicle (KYV) infrastructure: federally authorized title monitoring across state lines, every 48 hours.
The problem
Why does vehicle fraud surface so late?
U.S. auto loan balances reached $1.71 trillion in the second quarter of 2026 (Federal Reserve Bank of New York). Every dollar is secured by a vehicle.
Fraud has moved from the application to the vehicle. After funding, a car can be re-titled in another state, lose the lender’s lien, be financed again or ship overseas, all while payments stay current.
Most states don’t notify the lienholder, and servicing systems track payments, not the car. Many lenders find out at repossession, when the car is already gone. Insurers paying theft claims, fleets chasing unreturned cars and investors buying loan pools face the same blind spot.

Why now
Pledged collateral and real collateral can drift apart
In December 2025, federal prosecutors charged executives of auto lender Tricolor with pledging the same collateral to multiple lenders. They allege about $2.2 billion was pledged against roughly $1.4 billion of real collateral.

The category
What is Know Your Vehicle?
Know Your Customer (KYC) made identity checks standard across financial services. Know Your Vehicle (KYV) brings the same discipline to the collateral: know where the title stands, see when it changes, and act before the loss.
VINify is at the front of this category and intends to own it. The goal is for KYV to be a routine step built into every enterprise lending, insurance and fleet process, not a special project. Rental cars became a standard part of auto insurance claims because one company built the system adjusters use every day. VINify aims to become that kind of built-in process for the vehicle.
VINify can’t eliminate fraud. It makes fraud hard enough that it stops being worth it, so organized rings move on.
The product
What does VINify do today?
Watches the title
VINify checks the title on every vehicle in a portfolio across state lines, every 48 hours. Others pull a one-time title report.
Flags what changed
New titles in other states, illegal export and impound activity: the moves that turn a current loan into a lost car.
Says what to do next
Our fraud team reviews each flag and gives the customer a clear next step.
Next, VINify is bringing to market VIN validation that flags VINs as not valid across a whole portfolio at once. See how VINify works
